Transitional Coaching

As part of our retained assignments, Strategi Search and Selection offer new leaders invaluable transitional coaching within the first 90 days. Clients can choose from one of three options - all of which provide practical help and awareness at this critical time.

Option 1. New leader integration

  • undertake within 2-4 weeks of commencing. Approx 2-3 hours
  • practical, structured and facilitated conversation between new leader and team
  • together the team develop questions and offer thoughts on key areas
  • helps the new manager communicate who they are, where they're from, what drives them
  • a facilitated conversation follows and is led by the manager who addresses questions and builds dialogue
  • efficient and enjoyable way of accelerating the "getting to know you" process
  • helps build genuine trust and understanding

Option 2. Performance coaching

  • one session each month for first 3 months. Approx 3 hours
  • helps the new leader plan for and implement the first three months
  • first session is usually a one-hour conversation with the new leader's immediate boss
  • second and third session focus on early impact, clarifying vision, stakeholder management and leadership
  • first session is included in retained fee; second and third sessions can be arranged at an agreed cost

Option 3. Team talk: face to face 360

  • undertake 3 months from start date. Approx 3 hours
  • facilitated with the leader and their team
  • builds a rich understanding within the team
  • facilitator guides the new leader in forming 2-4 questions about their impact in the business
  • the team will consider these questions individually before meeting to discuss
  • outcomes include: building self-awareness, effective team patterns and ways of working together
